The Lavoie Team and The Vault Gastropub are organizing a Spring Food Drive to benefit Feed The Need Durham. Bring your non-perishable food donations to The Vault between March 18 and April 18 to win one of two $100 gift cards! The draw will be held on April 19, 2025.
Why are we doing this?
Food insecurity negatively impacts health, education, and economic stability within communities. Individuals may suffer from chronic illnesses, weakened immune systems, and mental health issues due to poor nutrition and stress. Children may experience poor academic performance due to a lack of focus and energy. Additionally, food insecurity strains social services, healthcare systems, and local economies. Addressing food insecurity is crucial to building healthier and more resilient communities.
In The Durham Region, we are fortunate to have amazing charitable organizations working tirelessly to strengthen our communities, such as Feed The Need Durham.
Feed the Need in Durham has been fighting food insecurity in the Durham Region for over ten years. Each year, Feed the Need in Durham distributes 2 million pounds of food with the help of 65 hunger relief programs, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of community supporters. Your support will enable Feed the Need in Durham to continue providing nutritious meals to thousands of people facing food insecurity.
Food banks are essential community resources that combat hunger and improve health by providing nutritious food to those in need. They collaborate with local partners to distribute food, ensuring vulnerable populations receive proper nutrition. Additionally, food banks support economic stability and community resilience.
